Happy Easter everyone!

Anonymous said: Is it just me or do you think that BBW new stuff is all about the fragrance? I remember when the products were Actually made to be quality skin care that came with an added bonus of a fantastic scent. I feel they left that in the past and now they just want you to buy a scent line and leave.

I completely agree! BBW used to emphasize the quality ingredients, but now it seems to be more about how many different crazy scents with catchy names they can come up with. The only body products I’ve purchased there in the last few years are from the Fresh Picked line and the old fragrances they brought back for the sales. I mainly stick to the home fragrance stuff, which I love!

Sunscape Cologne, 1993
(via ebay)
From the seller:

I bought this back in about 1993, and kind of forgot about it until I was cleaning out my perfume drawer and rediscovered it. I sprayed it once today and the sprayer works fine. The perfume still smells wonderful (the one spray I did I sprayed towards my shirt, and I have been smelling good for hours!)

I didn’t know they were still selling this type of cologne as late as 1993. It’s in the very old style bottle that came out before BBW converted to its “heartland” theme around 1991/1992. This one is in great condition! It’s also nice to see a very old fragrance that I’ve never heard of.

Field of Flowers Natural Essence Cologne, early ’90s

This is from the very earliest days of BBW, back before it adopted its famous sunburst logo and heartland theme. Love the vintage style of this bottle!

Golden Mimosa Body Splash, early or mid ’90s
(submitted by omr11, found on ebay)

I have never heard of this scent! Did you ever try this before? I’d buy it just to try it out and for vintage collection purposes, but it is a bit too pricey. (It’s listed at $59.99!)

I never heard of this scent, either! It must not have been out for very long. I wonder what it smells like? (Anyone know?)
Thanks for the great find!

Happy Daisy Mini Splash, early ’90s
(submitted by omr11)

I just purchased a 2 ounce vintage Happy Daisy body splash from ebay. (This is the seller’s photo, again.). I haven’t received it yet, but I had NO idea that BBW sold Happy Daisy that long ago in the rectangular-ish bottles. I was shocked when I found it!
Very interesting that you just brought up Happy Daisy recently! I actually saw that listing and I wish I’d have been able to afford it. I’ve noticed that it is definitely one of the rarer scents, so it is often pricey.
Happy Daisy was another scent I missed in the 90s, and I wish I had known about it. I only learned about it through your blog, so thank you for that, and thank you for everything you share on your amazing blog! :)

And thank you for this great submission! I didn’t know they had Happy Daisy in this bottle style, either. These little splash bottles are the best - I have a Flowering Herbs one that I’ve reused over the years for hairspray and other things.
Thanks again for this great find. Enjoy it!

Original Happy Daisy, mid or late ’90s
(via ebay)
Since this is a “special edition,” I’m guessing this was the first time Happy Daisy was released. Many special edition scents became popular enough to join the regular line-up, such as Pearberry and Honeysuckle.
What’s interesting about this product is that it has the early-mid ’90s bottle shape, but with the late ’90s label design. When Happy Daisy was released as a regular scent, it was packaged in the late ’90s “soda bottle.” (Seen here.)
